Mexico and Villareal striker Jonathan Dos Santos has debunked claims that he and Mattheo Musacchio are in a gay relationship and has blasted the media for promoting 'discrimination' and 'sensationalism'.
Jorge Bustamente of Mexican gossip magazine TV Notas reported on Tuesday that Dos Santos and Musacchio are lovebirds romantically attached to each other for the last seven months. The two are teammates at La Liga (Spanish first division) club Villarreal.
The gossip magazine further said his brother Giovani Dos Santos also a Mexico international and former Tottenham player was supportive of the relationship.
Dos Santos, a former Barcelona youth player, made it clear on social media to clarify that the story is false.
"To the media: If I was gay, I would have no problem in saying so," he tweeted. "Invent something else. Don't promote discrimination or sensationalism."
